"A Home for Community Homes"
are so important to us, it is even part of our name! For the past 25 years, we
have put all our funding into homes for adults with intellectual and
developmental disabilities, enabling them to live rich, full lives in the
admin staff has worked remotely for years. That has saved the organization
money and provided flexibility for our team. But as we have grown, we need a
professional, accessible place to meet with families, interview care providers,
hold staff and board meetings, and store office and meeting supplies. A “Home
for Community Homes” means that we have a consistent, private and welcoming
space to work when remote telecommuting can’t fill the bill.
In 2019, we will be working as a team to ensure we have the best policies and
procedures in place for future growth, and office space is the first step in
setting those plans in motion. With our goal of
raising $15,000 for the 2019 LOVE Campaign, these funds will cover rental and
associated costs for one year.
Also, this year we encourage recurring gifts. Contact Helene Wentink at 425-233-6930 or Helene@community-homes.org to learn more.
It is once again time for the Community Homes LOVE campaign, a fundraiser for affordable, supportive, community-based housing for adults with disabilities!! Most of you already know our family's story and how much we LOVE Community Homes. Instead I'm going to talk about an opportunity I had last year.
Last summer, I visited all of Community Homes' fourteen houses and took pictures of each household. I got to see every house, meet each caregiver, and take pictures of every resident that wanted to participate - and it was awesome! I saw so much camaraderie, enthusiasm, and LOVE for the places they live and the people they share it with.
These homes, though, wouldn't exist without the hard work and support of the Community Homes staff and it is time to show them some LOVE.
Please join us in supporting a home for Community Homes by donating or by sharing our page! ♥
